Richard Ponseti Obituary
Richard P. Ponseti “Richie” passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday morning, December 12, 2017, in Covington, LA. Richie was a native and life long resident of New Orleans, and a resident of Covington for the last 12 years. He was a faithful parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Richie enlisted in the U.S.N.R. serving active duty aboard the USS Constellation. After many years of service with the New Orleans Fire Department, Richie retired with the rank of Captain. Richie loved playing golf especially with his friends from the Fire Department. He loved football and his New Orleans Saints and visiting the casino. Devoted husband of the late Juanita Harold Ponseti for 46 years. Devoted father of Richard P. Ponseti, Jr. and his wife Norma and Regina Scanio and her husband Salvatore. Brother of Donald, Patrick, James, Gerald, Thomas, Annie, Elizabeth, Kathleen and the late Theodore, Peter, Joseph and John “Jack”. Grandfather of Rachel, Ashleigh, Emily, Caroline, Madeleine and Celeste and the late Gabrielle. Great Grandfather of Adilyn.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday December 18, 2017, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church 504 Holy Trinity Drive, Covington, LA., 70433. Visitation begins at 11:00 AM until Mass at 12:00 Noon. Internment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church or a charity of your choice.
