Richard Dourrieu Obituary

Richard “Richie” Dourrieu of Lacombe, Louisiana passed away peacefully at Lakeview Medical Center on December 30, 2017 at the age of 86. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Louis and Josephine Dourrieu. He lived most of his life in New Orleans, Louisiana and later moved to Lacombe, Louisiana with his late wife Darlene.





Richie served his country as a member of the Air Force. His bravery during the Korean War earned him several medals, including Occupation Medal (Japan), Good Conduct Medal, and Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he worked at Western Electric where he retired after many years.



Richie was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, crabbing, and fishing around Lake Pontchartrain all his life. He had a deep love for his family, especially his grandchildren.



Richard is survived by his two sons and their spouses, Lance Dourrieu and wife Mary, and Scott Dourrieu and wife Laura; his step daughter, Sandy Giles and husband Bobby; his grandchildren and their spouses, Brett Dourrieu and wife Karen, Michelle Dourrieu and husband Lucas Borel, Ashley Dourrieu and Christopher Dourrieu; his great grandchildren, Vivian, Porter, Gavin and Remy; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be deeply missed by his family.



Richie is preceded in death by his wife of 24 years, Darlene Dourrieu; his parents, Louis and Josephine Dourrieu; and his brothers, Harold Dourrieu and Danny Dourrieu.



A private service will be held for family members at a later date.
