Phillip Ryan Obituary

Phillip Riley Ryan was called home to the Lord Monday morning at 0424 on June 27, 2016, at the age of 52 from a massive heart attack. Phillip passed on at home with his wife and stepson, Christian Oberlander, by his side. He had been a disabled combat veteran for 11 years. He was born in Shreveport, LA and resided in Lacombe, LA. with his wife of, Maria Corkern (Oberlander) Ryan.\r\nHe loved fishing, enjoyed playing World of War Craft, and was an American History, War History, and movie buff. Phillip was my best friend, soul mate, and will forever be with me in my heart, soul, and memories. \r\nHe was in the U.S. Army and served with 7th Group Special Forces, Fort Bragg, NC. and was an 82th Airborne Division Paratrooper for years and served in Desert Shield/Storm and many other Special Operations missions traveling around the world. Decorated War Hero and Recipient of two Purple Hearts and a Bronx Star with Valor plus a host of various other achievement awards and medals.\r\nLoving, Devoted husband, best friend and soul mate of Maria Corkern Ryan for 11 years since April, 2005.\r\nFather of Laura Michelle Cheveallier, Johnathan Michael, Joshua Steven, and Jacey Germaine Ryan. Devoted Stepfather of Brian Joseph Oberlander, Kurt Harrington John Oberlander, and Christian McDonald-Charles Oberlander.\r\nDevoted Brother of Tim (Timothy) O. Ryan, (Melissa), Rollynn Ryan Brownwell, Daniera Ryan Efferson (Marvin), Stacey Ryan Lickteig, Holly King, Brad King (Lisa) and Kevin King. Uncle to host of nieces and nephews.\r\nSon of the late Rolly Ryan and the late Mary Davis Ryan. Godson to the late Charles (Pop) Gant and Marion Gant. Biological son of the late Sharon Bahr and the late Henry King. Best friend and Brother In Arms of Mr. Leo Carbajal.\r\n
