Nina Louise Chatelain

Nina Louise Chatelain peacefully passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the age of 92. Daughter of the late Michael Benjamin Gordy and Ella Veronica Mora. She was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie since 1951. Nina graduated from Francis T. Nicholls High School in 1945 and married Marvin James Chatelain in 1949. She is preceded in death by Marvin, who passed away in 2001, Ian Callahan, son of Denise and Mickey Callahan and Jack Thomas Sickinger, son of Jessica and Steven Sickinger. She is survived by her seven children: Stephen M. Chatelain (Debbie), Joel A. Chatelain (Rose), Kevin C. Chatelain (Janice), Denise Chatelain Callahan (Mickey), Roger M. Chatelain (Bobbie), Jeanne Chatelain Silva (Harry), Nicole A. Chatelain (Jeff), eleven grandchildren: Stephanie Cook, Jessica Sickinger, Jeffrey Chatelain, Katie Noto, Kerri Graham, Lauren Golleher, Catherine Guidry, Mickey Callahan, Leigh Callahan, Brandon Silva, and Mia Silva, twelve great grandchildren: Natalie and Justice Cook, Audrey Sickinger, Isabella and Giuliana Noto, Presley, Brady and Wyatt Graham, Sadie and William Golleher, and Thomas and Camille Guidry.

Visitation will be at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 6425 West Metairie Ave., Metairie, LA from 10:00 AM until Noon on Monday, June 14, 2021. Mass will begin at Noon. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
