May Terry Sammons

May Terry Cunningham Sammons passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019, in Covington, LA at the age of 91. She was born in Burkburnett, TX, raised in Electra, TX and lived in the New Orleans area for most of her life.

May retired from the Lady of the Sea Hospital and volunteered with St. Tammany Hospice, Peoples Home Healthcare and Volunteers of America. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Rummikube games with friends and family.

Daughter of the late Russell David Cunningham and Pauline Gill Cunningham.

Loving wife of the late J.M. Sammons, JR for 17 years.

Devoted mother of John S. Yates (Beth), John Kenneth Sammons, Don Sammons (Susan), Connie Sammons Ellerbe Koon (Wes) and Rossilyn Yates Perry (David).

Sister of the late Russell David Cunningham, Jr.

Grandmother of Glenn Paul Ellerbe, Leah Yates Lozano (Paul), Grace Griffin Hicks (Brian), Ami Ellerbe Orgeron (John), Russell John Sammons (Misty), Heather Perry Whittington (Scott), Jason Robert Perry (Mandy), Jessica Yates Henry (James), Jeffrey Don Sammons (Meghann), Lauren Perry Ayers (Michael) and Justin Mark Sammons (Julie).

Great Grandmother of 32 Great- Grandchildren.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Serenity Funeral Home in Covington, LA on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 2:30 pm with Visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request for donations to be sent to St. Tammany Hospital Hospice in memory of May Terry Sammons.
