Maxine Danner Obituary

Maxine Carolyn Taylor Danner passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 in Covington, LA at the age of 80. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and lived on the Northshore for the last seven years of her life. She graduated from John McDonogh High School in New Orleans. Maxine worked for the State of Louisiana in an administrative role for various hospitals, Charity, LSU, and University in New Orleans. After retiring she continued to work part time in administration for a Real Estate firm. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, making candy, sewing, cross stitching, knitting, crocheting, painting ceramics, and sharing some of her creations as gifts. Maxine enjoyed spending time with her dogs, Sox and most recently LuLu. During her years living in Abita Springs she enjoyed going out with her neighbor friends. She also met regularly with a group of friends from high school called the “Yak Yaks”. She loved to travel and also enjoyed taking cruises with family and friends. She was first married to the father of her children, the late Anthony Thomas Scamardo, Jr. Loving wife of the late Robert Danner for 20 years. Daughter of the late Charles Andrew Taylor, Sr. and Helen Stein Taylor. Nurturing mother of Linda Scamardo Heldenbrand (Nick), and Kimberly Scamardo (Richard Peplow). Sister of the late Doris Lipscy and Charles Andrew Taylor, Jr. Loving grandmother of Nathan Burke, Sean Burke, Logan Heldenbrand, and Holden Heldenbrand. Her first great granddaughter is expected to arrive in December, 2020, Lillian Elizabeth Burke. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, 72040 Maple St., Abita Springs, LA 70420 on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM, and Mass begins at 11:00 AM. A private Inurnment will take place at Lakelawn Cemetery.
