It is with deepest, heartfelt sorrow to announce the passing of Mallory Michelle Odom on December 26, 2021, in Bogalusa, Louisiana at the age of 32. She was born in Covington, Louisiana, and lived in the Bogalusa area her entire life.
Mallory graduated from Bogalusa High School in 2008. She went on to become a certified dental assistant and worked for Dr. Mitou LeMaire. Most recently, Mallory worked as a secretary for Accuwatt’s Contracting Service, LLC.
With her eclectic personality, Mallory had many interests and pastimes throughout her life. Singing and dancing to all genres of music was something she loved. Spending time with her large family and huge friend group was a priority for Mallory. She loved people and valued all those around her. No one could deny that Mallory would light up a room with her illuminating smile. Helping others and giving of herself were characteristics everyone felt in her presence. Mallory’s most enjoyable pass time was her excursions to the beach. This was undoubtedly her happiest place on earth to relax and take pleasure in the company of friends and family.
Mallory is survived by her father Michael Odom of Slaughter, LA and her mother Sheila Jakobsen of Bogalusa, LA. Additionally, she is survived by her son Brayden Sumrall and daughter Sophia Betanzo. Mallory was a devoted mother to her children and loved watching them grow and flourish. Mallory is also survived by her sister Jennifer Odom (Sarah), and niece Ruby Odom. She loved Jenn and was the biggest supporter of her kid sister. She is also survived by her great aunt Sarah Cefalu Rogers, uncle Toxie Odom, aunt Angie Brown (Chris), aunt Cheri Meyn (Jamie), and an enormous number of cousins.
Mallory is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Artis Ray Odom, Josie Cefalu Odom Adcox; maternal grandparents James (Boo) Jakobsen and Betty Sanders Jakobsen Western; uncles A. Ray Odom, and Thomas Odom, aunt Sylvia Smith, and many cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service for Mallory Michelle Odom Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Westside Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1107 West 9th Street, Bogalusa, LA. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM with Service beginning at 11:00 AM.
