Levon Twillie was called home to glory by his Lord and Savior on July 20, 2018. He was born to the late Larkin and Lucille Twillie in Shubuta Mississippi on July 31, 1941. He leaves his children to mourn, grandchildren, and great grandchilden, his brothers Nathaniel (Alice who had a very special place in his heart), Warner Pete (Iris) Twillie, one sister, Teollie Dumas, his sister in law Kathy Twillie, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Larkin and Lucille Twillie, also by his brothers Roy C, Johnny, David, Marvin. Levon loved fine cars and believe in giving his children the best Christmas a child could want. He worked at Folger Coffee Company for many years, before becoming self-employed. He owned Carvers Country Club that was shared by those near and far, who would come to family picnics and holidays like the Fourth of July and Easter, barbecuing on the grounds and swimming in the pool. He later started a lawn care business that grew into a landscaping company, providing services to the greater Covington, Folsom, and Slidell area. Levon was a man who would take apart an apparatus to see how it worked, so when the next one broke, he would know how to fix it. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Monday, July 30, 2018 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 2445 4th St., Slidell, LA, at 11:00 AM with Visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Special thanks to Notre Dame Hospice and North Shore Ochsner Medical Center. Arrangements were provided by Serenity Funeral Home.
