Leola Stephens Obituary

Leola “Aunt Rose” Stephens passed away on Friday morning, August 3, 2018, at her home in Covington, LA at the age of 87. A native of New Orleans, LA, lived most of her life in New Orleans and also traveled and lived in California for several years and most recently has been a resident of Covington for the last 15 years.

She was married for 63 years to the late Walter J. Stephens, Sr.. Loving mother of Walter "Jay" Stephens, Jr. and Sandra Mendel. Sister of Dorothy Volz. She is preceded in death by 2 brothers; Lucien and Robert Andre. Grandmother of Sherri, Cynthia and Philip. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will take place St. Benedict Catholic Church, 20370 Smith Rd, Covington, LA 70435, at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 8, 2018. Arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Covington, LA (985) - 875- 1131.
