Justine Darmana Martin, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 22, 2018. She was a resident of New Orleans / Metairie and lived the last 18 years in Abita Springs. She was born on November 27, 1932 in New Orleans to her parents, the late Justin Jean Darmana and the late Louise Barbazon Darmana. She was predeceased by her sisters Althea Pinner, Miriam Marchese, and Leatrice Scanlan; her sister-in-law Elaine Brewster; her brother-in-law’s Edward Pinner, Sr., Michael Marchese, Joseph Scanlan and Allen Mulligan, Sr., and Leyman Martin. She married the love of her life, Andrew Joseph Martin, 65 years ago on May 31, 1953. She was a loving mother and leaves behind seven children: Bret Martin (Anna), Andra Cilluffa (Al), Carolyn Hopel (Charles), Denise Papadopoulos (Dennis), Justine Martin (Gerald), Elizabeth Martin (Lynn), and Kathleen Moll. Loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren, who knew her as Maw Maw, Abbie,Devin, Bret Jr., Michael, Al Jr., Peter, Anthony, Adam, Andrew, Tony, John (deceased), Ethan, Ella and Lilly. She also leaves behind three great grandchildren, Grayson, Graham and Rowen and her beloved dog Rendon. She also leaves behind her sister Bertha Ann Mulligan and her first cousin (who she always called her brother) Prosper Sick. She leaves behind 19 nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Passages Hospice, Joe, Deacon Norbert, Stephanie and Tequila for taking good care of our mother on her final days with us, they will always be a part of our family. She will be missed by so many because of her kind heart. Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Hwy. 36, Covington, on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 12:00 noon. Visitation at the funeral home beginning at 11:00am. Interment immediately following at St. Louis #3 Cemetery, Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans.
