Jo Anne Faye Leman passed away unexpectedly on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the age of 75 (39 years to the day that her father passed away on Mother’s Day). She was born in 1946 in New Orleans, LA to Melvin Emile Leman and Clara Monlezun Leman. She was the third of three siblings: predeceased by her elder brother, James Emile Leman (Gail Ann), and is survived by her sister Jeanne Leman Calonje (Steve Cesar) as well as numerous nephews and nieces. She attended Alcee Fortier Senior High School and worked in an executive position at Calonje Medical Corporation, Calonje and Associates, Ltd., and Calco Lead-Based Paint Inspectors until her retirement in 2005. She loved gardening and cooking, especially for family, friends and neighbors as well as her church during it’s many activities. She lived in New Orleans and was a longtime resident of Algiers, LA, currently residing in Avondale, LA. Jo Anne was a very religious and caring person who will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Services will be held privately at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with Reverend Francis Offia officiating.
