Joan Marie Camp

Joan Marie Hunt Camp passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Slidell Memorial Hospital. She was 78 years of age. Joan was born in Covington, LA and resided in Pearl River, LA. She lived for her children and grandchildren. Joan enjoyed going to bingo and casinos, playing cards, dancing and singing hymns. She truly enjoyed cooking. Loving wife of 42 years to the late Milton Leslie Camp. Daughter of the late Earl & Vernie Hunt. Devoted mother of Vernia Lee McCarroll, Shelia Schulz, and Leslie C. Poff. Sister of Junie Strother and the late Jean Hunt Beliew, Kenneth Hunt, Wayne Hunt, and Elizabeth Hunt Smith. Grandmother of Tony Bonura, Joshua Bonura, Jacob Bonura, Kayla McCarroll, Cody McCarroll, Adam Burroughs, Grace Harris, Dakodah Poff, and Jayde Poff. Great grandmother of Nicholas, Alyssa, Beckett, Adyson, Joshua “Bubba”, Jr., Destiny, Violette, Silas, and the late Ivy. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Funeral Services at New Zion Baptist Church, 17387 New Zion Church Road, Covington, LA 70435 (in the small church in the rear near the cemetery) on Friday, February 5, 2021.
