Jennie Thiel Rhodes

Jennie Thiel Rhodes passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 in New Orleans, LA at the age of 96. She was born in New Orleans, LA where she resided for most of her life. Jennie loved to fish and crab, and she made excellent gumbo. She enjoyed gardening and loved her flowers. Jennie was a very caring person, always there for her daughter, and adored her grandson. She was feisty, had a dry sense of humor, and would occasionally tell a little dirty joke. She was first married to Robert Monroe Brock, and then to Avery Joseph Rhodes, who both preceded her in death. Daughter of the late Elizabeth Smith Thiel and Anthony Thiel. She is survived by her beloved daughter Patricia Carter, her grandson Henry James “Jim” (Barbara May Mulle) Mulle, her great granddaughter Natasha May Terrell, and her great great granddaughter “Aubs” Terrell, as well as her nephew and nieces. Sister of the late Ernest Thiel, Milton Thiel, Arthur Thiel, Amelia Jones, Mary Marrero, and Anthony “Tony” Thiel. Interment will be held at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens on a later date.
