Jeannette Baradell Obituary
Jeannette Ruth "Sissy" Hinyup Baradell passed away the evening of Saturday, May 12 at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans at the age of 87 years old. Sissy was born on July 28, 1930 in New Orleans to the late Lawrence Jacob and Dora Jeannette Stritzinger Hinyup and lived in the Bucktown area of Metairie for most of her life. She was the wife of the late Alvin Baradell, Sr. and mother of Linda Zitzmann (Philip) and the late Alvin Baradell, Jr. (Karen Hall).
Sissy loved Mardi Gras and was a longtime member of the Krewes of Helois and Isis. She was a member of the Golden Agers in Metairie and enjoyed casino trips with them. Sissy loved cooking, baking cakes, and catering parties for friends. She enjoyed socializing and went out of her way to talk to others, no matter where she was. She was the life of the party, always entertaining everyone she was around.
She is survived by two brothers, Lawrence "Buck" Hinyup (Nora) and Charles Hinyup (Shirley), four grandchildren, Kristy Zitzmann Winget, Philip Zitmann (Telli), Joey Baradell and Brett Zuckerman (Kim), great grandchildren James (Adair) and Preston Winget, Leeann and Avery Zitzmann, Atlas Baradell, Skylar, Hailey and Zoey Zuckerman and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Cornelius "Connie" Hinyup (Cynthia) and her sister Anna Guerra.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial service celebrating Sissy's life to be held on Saturday, June 30 at 11:00am at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1520 Chickasaw Ave. Metairie, LA 70005 .
