James Laborde

James Laborde passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at the age of 70. James was a military veteran, he served in the United States Army in Germany during Vietnam. James was a welder at Equitable Shipyard and Caterpillar and a retiree of United States Postal Service. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, hunter, and talented craftsman. James was a kind and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He loved his family deeply & enjoyed spending time with his wife, kids, and grandchildren. Son of the late Isom Laborde and Odile Mary duCote Laborde. Devoted husband of 47 years to Debra Laborde. Loving father of Eric Laborde (Meghan), and Sara Pearson (Glenn). Loving grandfather of Lane, Leah, Kate, Rip, and Owen. Brother of Jerry Laborde, and the late Roy Laborde and Jason Laborde. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to St. Joseph Abbey and Heart of Hospice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Hwy. 36, Covington, Monday, July 26, 2021, at 2:00 PM with the visitation beginning at 11:30 AM.
