Henry Frank Mauthe, Jr. passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021 at his home in Folsom, LA at 92 years of age. He had been diagnosed December 4, 2015 with prostate cancer and never let it get him down. He was born in 1928 in New Orleans, LA to the late Henry Mauthe, Sr. and Catherine Meyer Mauthe.
He is survived by his children Randy Mauthe (Jade), Cindy Hebert (Brian), Kathy Mauthe, and Kenny Mauthe (Jamie), 2 stepchildren Carl Kobe (Pam), and Janine Millett. He was the grandfather of Wendy Fair, Sean Mauthe, David Mauthe, Jared Mauthe, Brenden Mauthe, Krystal Schaff, Laurie Smith Jones, Ben Smith, Stacy Galloway, Travis Mauthe, Sarah Tullos, Katie Pieri, and Daniel Mauthe. He also had many great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Annabelle Labatut, ex-wife and mother of his children Earline Mauthe, and second wife Madelyn “Joyce” Mauthe.
His entire life revolved around working on his dairy farm which he always loved and was dedicated to. He always had his place at the Farmer’s Market in downtown Covington, every Saturday morning. He was on the Board of Directors of NRCS, and Mid America Dairymen, Inc. He also ran a grocery store in Folsom. In his 92 years he always worked hard, was never sick and never once was in the hospital.
Pallbearers will be Sean Mauthe, David Mauthe, Brenden Mauthe, Jared Mauthe, Travis Mauthe, Daniel Mauthe, and Ben Smith.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in the Jonathan Hall, 11345 St. John Church Rd., Folsom, LA 70437. A Eucharistic Service will be held at 11:30 AM. Covid restrictions will be in place and masks will be required for all attending. Interment will immediately follow at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery, Covington, LA.
