Helen Laurent

Helen Cryer Laurent passed away on August 17, 2018, at her residence in Lacombe, LA. She was born in 1927 to the late Manual and Florida Sylvas Cryer. Helen was the devoted wife of the late George Laurent for 52 years and leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved children; Joyce (Jude), Gene, Mike (Avis), Jimmy (Madeline), and proceeded in death by 3 children, Joseph (Archie), Christine, and Sam. After her daughter Christine passed away, Helen and George raised their grandson Kevin (Samantha), from the age of 4 as their own.

Helen was the loving grandmother of Monica, Latrecia, Jennifer, Christina, Kevin, Celeste, Gene, Brandi, Ashley, Jimmy Jr, Samuel, Charleton Sr, Kimberly and the late Chandler. Great-grandmother to Travion, Macey, Jordan, Thaddis III, Kailey, Joshua, Kevin Jr, Kaitlyn, Jada, Kahlil, Colin, Nejai, Deijah, Nailah, Khaari, Yara, Asiya, Sophia, Tristan, Charli-lisa, Emmanuel, Charleton Jr, Cayden, Leyla and Chandler. Great-Great grandmother to Luna and Ja’Kari, and one unborn great- great grandson Adrien. Helen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, great-great grandmother, Godmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lacombe, LA, on Saturday, August 25, 2018. Visitation at the church from 9:00am to 11:00am with the Mass beginning at 11:00am. Interment immediately following at LaFontaine Cemetery, Lacombe. Arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Covington, LA.
