Harold "Holly" Francis Glynn, Jr. longtime Covington resident passed away at Lakeview Regional Medical Center on February 24, 2018 of heart failure.
He was surrounded by family and lifelong friends as he entered heaven. He was born in Lafayette, LA and as a child he split his time between Metairie
and Lafayette following the local horse racing seasons with his stepfather, Harold Delahoussaye. The family would settle in Metairie in his teen years.
Holly had a great love of horses having spent time at the family farm in Lafayette. He worked for his father as an exercise rider with thoroughbreds and
later becoming a well-known farrier. His farrier business thrived for many years, as he saved numerous horses from crippling hoof issues. He would go on
to find his second family at the Abita Golf and Country Club where he was the greens keeper.
In his thirties, he was intrigued watching streetluge on X-Games and as a skilled blacksmith, he constructed several race luges and patented the Delugen.
Holly and his family spent several years traveling across the United States to racing events.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Verna Lou Landry Glynn and Harold Francis Glynn, Sr. and father-in-law Alfons Robert Kleindienst. He is survived by his lifelong
love and wife, Karla Judith Kleindienst Glynn, sons, Zachary James Glynn (Kadi) and Cullen Robert Glynn. Sister, Wanda "Nanny" Roland, step-father, Harold James Delahoussaye,
grandson, Gavin James Glynn, mother-in-law Carol Jackson Kleindienst. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Buffy Broussard, Ty Roland, Mene' Williams, Richie Hassell,
Robyn Hassell (Tommy), Christian Robert Kleindienst, Samantha Couch, Emily Couch and Michael Gilly. More of a brother then a brother-in-law to Karen Ann Hassell(Dwayne) Sharon Jean
Kleindienst, Robert Alfons Kleindienst (Dawn), Heidi Couch (Dave) and Kurt Edward Kleindienst (Donna). Aunts and uncles, Howard Anthony Glynn, Gerald
Joseph Glynn, Donald Joseph Glynn, Mary Alice Glynn Gleason, Thomas Patrick Glynn, Barbara Ann Glynn and Gail Doell. He was also loved by many cousins and
friends. He was very lucky to have a special friend in Leslie Hernandez whom he shared many a good time with.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 08, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Abita Springs Golf and Country Club located
at 73433 Oliver Street, Abita Springs, LA .
