Harold Philip Amerland, Jr., passed away on August 5, 2018, in Covington, LA at the age of 75. He was born in New Orleans and lived in St. Tammany Parish for most of his life. Harold served in the U.S. Air Force and was an electrical engineer for over 40 years. His interests included, carpentry, boating, fishing and antique collecting. Loving husband of the late Joyce Riedie Amerland for 54 years. Son of the late Harold Philip Amerland, Sr., and Lillian Wildgrube Amerland. Devoted father of Sheri Amerland Breaux (Clint), Stacy Amerland McDaniel and the late Brian David Amerland and Scott Reed Amerland. Brother of Lynn Amerland Wismar (Bruce) and Carol Amerland Venturatos (Steve). Grandfather of Anslee McDaniel Alford (Garrett), Austin McCoy McDaniel, Alaina Leigh McDaniel, Heather Hanson and Hope Hanson. Great grandfather of Lynnleigh Alford and Levi Alford. A private memorial service will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Associates would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Covington.
