Gloria Marie Sykes Maddox, age 78, passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 at her home in Bush, LA. Gloria was a graduate of Newton High School, Newton, MS in 1958 and Meridian Junior College and Matty Hersee Hospital, Meridian, MS 1961. Gloria dedicated her life to her patients and loved working with home health, where she was employed with Southeast Louisiana Home Health of Bogalusa, LA.
Beloved mother of Teresa Maddox Landrum (David) and David Maddox of Bush, LA., and the late Tamara Lynn Hill of Petal, Ms. Grandmother of Michael, Matthew, Savanah, Madison, and Dawson. Great grandmother of Corbin, Emelia, Andrew, and Andy. Daughter of the late Leslie M. and Leona D. Sykes of Meridian, Ms. Sister of Leslie and Brad (Dancy) Sykes of Meridian, Ms., and Peggy (George) Cook of Petal, Ms. Also survived by 13 nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Memorial Service will be held at Bush United Methodist Church, 81306 Hwy 41, Bush, La. on Sunday September 2, 2018 visitation from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Covington, LA. 985-875-1131.
