George Scallan

George Scallan passed away Wednesday morning, July 26, 2017, at his residence in Covington, LA., at the age of 83. He was born in Marksville, LA., and lived in Covington for most of his life. George was a horse trainer for many years, he loved going to the race track to watch the horses that he had trained. He also loved hunting and being outdoors. George was the loving husband to the late June Scallan for over 30 years. He was a devoted father to Steve (Donna) Scallan, Lisa Scallan, Monquie (Dudley) Woods, Sean (Sandra) Scallan. Brother of Uncle Love, Sidney,Ivan, Nettie, Ethel, Dixie and Larka. George was the Grandfather of Little George, Crystal, Jeremy, Ryan, Alicia, Mia, Kianna “Ki Ki” Sean II, Michael, Sonya and Cory. Great-Grandfather of Numerous Great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Thora Scalloan, one daughter Angela Scallan and one son Hannon Scallon.
