George Rohr Obituary

George Henry Rohr, Sr. passed away peacefully on Monday, January 11, 2021 at the age of 89. Husband of 61 years to the late Leona Mae Nehlig Rohr. George was born in New Orleans, LA and resided in Metairie, LA for most of his adult life. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he worked in Germany as a typist in the clerical office. He was employed by Freeport-McMoRan as a draftsman. He was also self-employed as a draftsman working with local residential contractors drawing house plans, a job he truly enjoyed. George especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his son George Henry Rohr, Jr. (Ivy) and his daughter Kathy Rohr Meehan (Bobby), his grandchildren Stacey Meehan, Stephanie Meehan, Kevin Meehan, Patrick Meehan, and George Rohr, III. Son of the late George Joseph Rohr and Edna Gaulon Rohr. Brother of the late Margaret Rohr Doyle, Edna Rohr Walley, and Dorothy Rohr Haffner. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday, January 15, 2021 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 3601 Transcontinental Dr., Metairie, LA 70006 at 11:30 AM. Visitation will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church from 10:30 AM until Mass begins. Interment to follow at Lake Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Covington, LA.
