George Joseph Bordelon

George Joseph Bordelon passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, July 26, 2021 in Arabi, LA. Born in New Orleans in 1938, he was a lifelong resident of Arabi. In his younger years, George was a commercial fisherman and a craftsman, having built both of his fishing boats by hand and renovating his home after Hurricane Katrina. A member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 37 for over 40 years, George was retired from Buck Kreihs Marine Repair Company. George loved cooking, especially Italian food. He was also an avid duck and deer hunter. In 1959, George married the love of his life and most excellent care giver, Caterina “Tenie” Misuraca Bordelon. In June, they celebrated 62 years of marriage. Son of the late William and Bertha Schultz Bordelon. Devoted father of Catherine Rose Bordelon (Michael Wilson), and Christopher G. Bordelon. Brother of Juliette Bordelon Gallardo (the late Johnny), and the late Jerome William Bordelon (the late Donna). Brother-in-law of Rosemary Papa (Sam), Guy Misuraca (JoAnn), Vicki Cardon, the late Silve Lee and Warren Groomer, and the late Silvestro Misuraca. Grandfather of Chloe and Kylie Bordelon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful grand dog, Lucky. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life and Memorial Service on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at The Abby Rose, 2900 Oak Ridge Boulevard, Violet, LA 70092.
