Eugene Bartlett Thacker Jr. entered Eternal Rest on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the age of 75 at his residence of Marrero, Louisiana. Son of the late Gloria Libert Duay (Elmo). Beloved Husband of the late Deborah “Dee Dee” Thacker. Brother to Dwight Duay. Wonderful Father to Wanda Weinberger (Ray), Terri Thacker, Eugene B. Thacker III (Tat2), Pamela Rooney (Pat), Nichole Thacker (Al). Grandfather of Tisha Price, April Hunter, Stanley (BJ) Hunter, Nicholas Weinberger, Joshua Hebert, Christian Thacker, Gage Rooney, Christopher Charles Jr and Chris-Lynn Charles. Great Grandfather to Maura Price, Destiney Rogers, Chloe Rodrigue, Alisha Guidry, Zander Rogers, Koen Summers and Harper Hunter. Loved by multiple nephews, nieces, and one great great grandkid. He was a native of Westwego, La. and longtime residence of Marrero, La. Eugene served in the US Army (Vietnam War) Honorable discharge. Eugene started his lifetime career with Jefferson Parish Sheriff office until his retirement as a Captain of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff office. Words will never describe how he was loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends. There will be a private family service at a later date.
