Effie Brock Bean

Effie Brock Bean went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 23, 2018 in Picayune, MS. A nave of Wallins Creek, KY, Effie was born on May 26, 1928, and celebrated her 90th birthday this year. She was a long me resident of Pearl River, LA. Effie loved cooking, sewing, making quilts, canning fruits and vegetables, churning butter and gardening. Most of all, she will be remembered for her love and willingness to sacrifice for her family and friends. Effie is survived by her loving children, Rea Headrick, Hershel Abner and his wife Linda, Richard “Wade” Abner and Donny Eugene Abner. Devoted grandmother of Richard, David, Nelda, Albert, C. J., Michael, Robert, Samantha & Falon and great grandmother of Logan, Jacob, Jeremiah and Taylor. Effie also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and devoted extended family. She is preceded in death by her children, Elizabeth Smith, Harlan Abner and Ernie Abner, as well as her brothers and sisters, Willie Brock, Charles Brock, Geneva Long, Clarkie York, Nancy Scote, Juanita Brock, Lindy Slusher and Mahale Slusher. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. Relives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Thursday, July 26, 2018, beginning at 11:00 AM with Visitation starting at 9:00 AM at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Hwy 36, Covington, LA. Interment following at Hickory Memorial Gardens in Pearl River, LA.
