Edward Rainey Obituary

Edward Murle Rainey passed away at home in Lacombe, LA on Thursday, May 28, 2020. Native of Independence, LA and longtime resident of Lacombe, LA, age 92 years. Beloved husband of 72 years of Joyce Mizell Rainey. Loving father of Samuel D. Rainey and Linda Rainey Wiggins. Devoted grandfather of 6, Great Grandfather of 9 and Great Great Grandfather of 1. Loving brother of Luther Ray Rainey. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wiilie Rainey and Edna Bennett, Sons, James Edward Rainey and Murle Rainey, Sr. as well as his brother, Arvel W. Rainey, Sr., and his sisters, Mary Virginia Rainey Cittadano and Catherine R. Rainey. Edward served in WWII as an Airplane Crew Chief, Sergeants Rank, in the U. S. Army Air Corps 7th Air Service Division. He had a long, successful career as a pipe fitter and member of the Local 60 Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. Private Services held, Interment at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA. Arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Covington, LA.
