Drusilla Rodriguez Graves

Drusilla Rodriguez Graves passed away peacefully in her family’s care in Troutdale, Oregon on Wednesday, February 17, 2021. A native of Osceola, Louisiana and longtime resident of Blond, LA, age 87 years. Beloved wife of 57 years to the late Esley L. Graves. Loving mother of Cindy Graves Wright and her husband Robert, Debbie Graves Hartson, and Theresa Diane Graves. Devoted grandmother of Lexus Lynne Graves Wright and her fiance Drew VanDoozer, Troy Lamar Bennett, Elliott Bennett, Claire Bennett, and Alex Bennett, and devoted great grandmother of 7. She is also survived by her sister, Doris Gatlin, as well as many nieces and nephews. Drue is preceded in death by her siblings, Dorethea Mansfield, Dorothy Burnthorn, Dolphus Rodriguez and Dalton Rodriguez. A beautiful person inside and out, Drue was dearly loved by all who knew her. She and Esley built and ran The Blond Trading Post for many years. Sharing a great love for music, in addition to singing and playing guitar at church, they also had a local country music house, featuring gospel and country bands that became well known and loved throughout the community. When they retired, Drue became a librarian at the St. Tammany Parish Library, Folsom Branch. After Esley passed away, she moved to the Portland, Oregon area to live with her daughter Cindy and her family and spent many good years. Even in her last 2 years with the onset of health complications, she never lost her sense of humor. She will always be remembered as a God loving woman who devoted herself to her family to the utmost and will be dearly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Serenity Funeral Home, 20419 Hwy 36, Covington, LA, on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Visitation beginning at 11:00 AM.
