Clara May “Claire” Fontaine Weidner suddenly left this world on November 27, 2017 at her residence home in Slidell. Claire was born in the 9th ward of New Orleans on August 5, 1928. She is survived by her three loving children, Jim Jr., Bella Guillory and May Holley. She will be deeply missed by her son-in-law, Melvin Guillory, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Weidner. Claire was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, James S. Weidner, She was a sister to Henry, Emile, George, Arthur, Stanley and Connie. Claire was also a loving grandmother to Marshall, Jamie, Carla, Stephen, Carrie, Ashley and Joel along with her 19 great-grandchildren James, Kaisley, Kai, Abigail, Zack, Gage, Andrew, Madelyn, Liah, Eli, Marleigh, Gabriel, Meia, Benaiah, Maguire, Jacob, Annabelle, Harlee and Maryn. She founded and operated Fontaine’s Florist for many years, and was well loved by many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Next to her family she enjoyed shopping, socializing, making friends and giving gifts.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 58203 Hwy. 433, Slidell, La., 70460 Phone 985-643-3832, on Monday, December 4th, at 10:00 am. Visitation begins at 9:00 am with family memories at 9:30. Internment following at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Hwy. 190 Slidell, LA where Jim and Claire will be laid to eternal rest together.
