Charles Cahill

Charles Cahill passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the age of 86. He was the loving husband of Theresa Catalano Cahill for 64 years. Charles proudly served in the US Marine Corp as a Staff Sergeant and was a Korean War Veteran. Charles was a member of the Zoo Crew for 25 years, lead guitar player of Art Ryder’s Band for 30+ years, former news photographer and sketch room artist for WVUE, Channel 8, New Orleans from 1970-1980. He was also a member of the Dixie Land Trio Jazz Band. Son of the late John and Sara Cahill. Loving father of Mary Rose Cahill Koob (Douglas) and, John Cahill (Angela). Devoted grandfather of Candace Busselmaier (John), Adam Koob, Amanda Koob Breeden, John David Cahill. Great Grandfather of Robert, Andrew and Liesel Busselmaier; and Mabyn Breeden. Brother of Jerry Cahill (Alma), Joe Cahill (Judy), Mary Grace Register, Cathy Tullos (Joe), Loretta Gilreath, Clair Bordelon, David Cahill (Delores), and the late Gloria Morgan, John Cahill, Kenneth Cahill and Ronald Cahill. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 400 Westchester Blvd., Slidell, on Monday, August 6, 2018. Visitation time begins at 10:00am and Mass will be held at 12:00 noon. Interment will be held at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, at 1:30pm.
