Alvarez LaBostrie Obituary

Alvarez “Big Al” L. LaBostrie, Jr. passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021 in Lacombe, LA at the age of 55. He was born in New Orleans, LA and lived in Lacombe, LA for most of his life. He attended Mandeville High School. He joined the United States Air Force in 1984 and served his country for 26 years as a Senior Master Sgt. (Retired). His pride was golfing, and he was devoted to teaching and mentoring the youth and high school students. Son of Alvarez LaBostrie, Sr. and Gail LaBostrie. He leaves behind his maternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Cryer, and his paternal grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Lionel LaBostrie. Devoted father of Nadia M. Shaver (Hayden). He leaves behind his loving fiancé Marie White “Sweetie”, and his Godmother Joycelyn “Nanny” LaBostrie. Brother of Nicole Allain (Anthony), Corey LaBostrie (Kelly), and Alex LaBostrie Ziegler (Alania). Proud grandpa to Talia Lynn Shaver. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 61030 Brier Lake Dr., Lacombe, LA 70445. Visitation begins at 10:30 AM, and Mass begins at Noon. Military honors will be conducted at the church following Mass. Inurnment will be private at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell, LA on a later date. Condolences and tributes can be posted at www.serenitycovington.com
