Luther Gantner Obituary
Luther is survived by his loving wife, Patricia O’ Shaughnessy Gantner, of 53 years. Devoted father of Timothy (Janel), Charles (Suad) Gantner and the late Michael David Gantner. Grandfather of Michael, Matthew, Hayden, Branden, Christian, and Kaitlen Gantner.
Luther is also survived by his brother-in-law John “J.M.” Kenney; with a special thank you to his sister-in-law Eileen O. Drouant and husband Lyle Drouant and sister-in-law Sheila O. Yeadon and her husband Steve Yeadon.
Son of the late John Russell and Arthusia Mae Strange Gantner. Brother of Leonard and Arthur Gantner and the late Elmer, John, Hattie, Robert and David Gantner.
Luther was an ordained Lutheran Minister. He interned at St. Mark Lutheran Church and received his Doctor of Theology from Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio, in 1965. He served churches in Ohio, Indiana, and Alabama.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1520 Chickasaw Ave., Metairie, LA. Visitation is at the church on Friday evening, February 16, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Visitation will continue Saturday morning, February 17, 2018 from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
