KAREN ANNA GREGSON SIMEON
In Loving Memory
Karen was born on April 14th, 1949. She departed this world on March 10th, 2018 having left it a much better place for all those who were loved and touched by her to be with her Lord and Savior and all His angels and saints. Karen is survived by her devoted family: her beloved husband and soulmate, Floyd J. Simeon, Jr.; her two sons and daughters-in-law: Floyd J. Simeon III and his wife, Melissa Rae Bennett Simeon, and Scott Devin Simeon and his wife, Melissa Haney Simeon; as well as her lovely daughter, Stephanie Elise Simeon. She also sadly leaves her beloved grandson, Floyd J. Simeon IV (FJ), who will now and forever miss his devoted Mimi. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Borden and Albine Gregson, is also survived by her sister, Kathleen Gregson Tarantino, as well as several nieces and nephews. Karen was born and raised in Mid-City New Orleans where she first met her lifelong sweetheart, Floyd. They dated for over eight years, were married at St. Anthony of Padua Church, and enjoyed 48 years of happiness together. Her husband's heart will forever ache. Karen graduated from Sacred Heart Academy on Canal Street, then from business school. She had a successful business for a number of years, Transcription Services, where she was among the first to employ an IBM computer and printer. She retired from the business very early to enjoy her most successful occupation: devoted housewife, mother, and grandmother. Karen had many passions in her life, the most notable of which was her family. She also particularly loved reading numerous books that could fill a small library, and travelling the world with her husband. She so loved the beach, and enjoyed spending time at her second home in Sandestin, Florida. Karen also enjoyed playing mah jong twice a week with many friends. She was a devoted lover of so many animals and kept numerous throughout her life, the last of which was her very special Sugar Bear.
