Buena Silve Obituary

Buena Marie Hithe Silve, a resident of Lacombe, Louisiana was the first-born child to the late Randolph Hithe and Melba Guillotte Hithe. She was born on May 24, 1953 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Buena was a very educated woman. She attended Holy Redeemer Grammer School, then graduated high school from St. Mary of the Holy Angels Academy. She then went on to St. Mary’s Dominican Collge. Her final studies resting on receiving a microbiology degree from Tulane University.

She enjoyed having a good time with friends and family where she moved from New Orleans to Lacombe. After moving to Lacombe, she met and married her husband of 42 years, Clyde Matthew Silve, Sr. on May 22, 1976. Out of that union four children were born. There were 3 boys, Clyde Matthew Silve, Jr., Jason Raoul Silve, Sr. (Vontavia), and Devin Michael Silve, Sr., and 1 daughter, Heather Renee Silve.

Buena was a very hard worker and enjoyed the science field. She worked for over 15 years at Tulane National Primate Research Center in Covington as a bio-technician under her trusted best friend and boss, late Bernice Kaack. While working at the Primate Center, she took night time evening classes in her spare time and earned her paralegal degree. She late used that paralegal degree to work under the lawyer Alan Black and Law Office of Marion Farmer.

After years of her medical conditions of fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, and mitral valve prolapse affecting her body, Buena then became disabled and retired. She then spent her time with family and friends. She was known to always “DRESS” to a Tee as they say. She loved her fashion and did it through shopping and her clothing. She tried to help out in the community whenever she could. She was one of the founding members of the Lacombe Recreation District. She was involved in every way possible whether as a team mom, sat on the board, score keeper and even help put down the first squares of sod. She was a 2nd grade catechism teacher for Sacred Heart Catholic Church for many years. She loved teaching the children about First Communion and seeing them in their beautiful dresses, veils, pants, and ties.

Buena also worked with the Clerk of Courts. She worked as a Commissioner and a Commissioner in Charge of the voting polls. She loved

that job because it gave her the opportunity to see everyone and catch up.

She loved her neighbors and some of them respectfully referred to

her as their neighborhood “momma”. She was well taken care of and

watched over by her special friends at the senior center, neighborhood, and her “adopted daughter,” Audra.

Buena had a deep desire and love of God. She was a member of the

neocathecumenal way for many years. During this time she discovered a special niche for making rose bud rosaries for many people that are still enjoyed to this day.

She loved her children, grandchildren, her church family, and loved to show her personality through her fashion.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Randolph and Melba Hithe,

and her sister, Carmencita Ann Hithe.

She is also preceded in death by 2 brothers-in-law, Robert Anthony and James Allen Silve.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, Clyde Sr., 3 sons, Clyde Jr., Jason Sr. (Vontavia), Devin Sr., and 1 daughter, Heather. 6 grandchildren, Lakeya Janae Silve, Devin Michael Silve, Jr., Jayshawn Frederick, Braylen Emery Silve, Mackenzie Aeryn Griner, and Jason Raoul Silve, Jr.
